Access to Justice for All: Tulia Group and Nyaradzo Group Host Free Legal Advice Drop-In in London

On Friday 17th July 2026, Tulia Group CIC hosted its first ever London Drop-In at Nyaradzo House, Letchworth Garden City, in partnership with the Nyaradzo Group UK. It was a milestone moment for our organisation, and a powerful reminder of why access to legal advice should never be a privilege reserved for those who can afford it.

What is the Tulia Drop-In?

The Drop-In is one of the most important things we do. It is a free, walk-in community event where anyone navigating the UK immigration system can access expert legal advice, information sessions, and holistic support, without the barrier of legal fees, without an intimidating office environment, and without having to know exactly what question to ask before they walk through the door.

We launched our Drop-In sessions in Coventry, where we run a weekly clinic every Thursday at Methodist Central Hall. Week after week, we see people arrive carrying questions they have been holding for months, sometimes years, because they did not know where to go, could not afford a solicitor, or simply did not believe that help like this was available to them.

The London Drop-In was our first step in taking that model beyond the Midlands.

Why this matters

Access to justice is not equal. For many migrants living in the UK, the cost of legal advice is simply out of reach. A single immigration consultation can cost hundreds of pounds. For someone on a care worker salary, a student stipend, or a spouse visa with restricted working rights, that is not a realistic option.

Yet the consequences of not getting advice can be life-changing. A missed deadline. A misunderstood visa condition. An employer making unlawful demands. A family separated by a preventable refusal. These are not abstract scenarios, they are the situations we see every week.

At Tulia, we believe that where you were born, what visa you hold, or how much money you have should never determine whether you can access legal support. The Drop-In exists to close that gap, to put expert, regulated immigration advice directly into the hands of the people who need it most, at no cost to them.

What took place on the day

The day was carefully structured to deliver both knowledge and individual support. It was a one-to-one drop-in format, giving every attendee the opportunity to sit privately with an advisor and receive personalised guidance on their specific situation. Individuals arrived with real concerns, about their visa, their family, their rights, their future — and left with greater clarity and a clearer path forward. For some, it was the first time they had ever spoken to a legal advisor. For others, it was the moment they finally understood their options.

We are deeply grateful to the Nyaradzo Group for their incredible partnership, generosity, and hospitality on the day. They helped create an environment where people felt safe, welcomed, and valued. This is exactly the kind of partnership that makes meaningful community work possible.

Our Coventry Drop-In continues every Thursday, 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Methodist Central Hall, Warwick Lane, Coventry, CV1 2HA, free and open to anyone who needs support.

London was just the beginning. We are committed to taking this model to more cities, reaching more communities, and ensuring that no one has to navigate the UK immigration system alone.
